Introducing Total Yoga Nidra Online Learning

Total Yoga Nidra Online Learning

These two, brand new and fully online courses are based on material we have been teaching for many years: in yoga classes; on teacher training events; at workshops; and in one-to-one sessions. We developed them so that everyone who wants to can receive in our yoga nidra teaching, irrespective of their geographical location or the practicalities of their personal situation, and so that we can share the benefits of this wonderful practice with many more people than we can ever hope to reach in person.

Total Yoga Nidra Online Learning is suitable for students who for whatever reason are unable to participate in our 'live, in person' courses. Also, as our online training material is more highly structured than our responsive, organic, 'live, in person' teaching style these courses are particularly suitable for students who appreciate a linear, structured approach. Additionally, we feel online learning is a more appropriate medium for courses which harness the therapeutic applications of yoga nidra, where students are particularly encouraged to work at their own pace and to integrate the course material into their lives in accordance with their needs.

Each online course is built into its own part of the Yoga Nidra Network website. Here you can interact with the course materials online, or you can download them to study offline if that's your preference. You can begin your studies at any time, work through the material at your own pace, and revisit the course as often as you like. And as your access never expires you will also benefit from all future course development.

Sleep Well with Total Yoga Nidra

This is the first in a planned series of 'therapeutic applications' short online courses, and is the culmination of Nirlipta's personal experience in the field of sleep: as a yoga nidra teacher, as a hypnotherapist, and as an ex-insomniac who cured his own condition using a synthesis of these techniques.

The aim of this course is to provide those suffering from insomnia with an understanding of how sleep works and of how to sleep well, as well as everything they need to start applying the practice of yoga nidra therapeutically to their condition. It is open to everyone and assumes no prior knowledge of yoga or experience in yoga nidra practice.

The course content has been crafted into six one-hour sections, each exploring an aspect of sleep and the therapeutic applications of yoga nidra in relation to that aspect. Each section contains: a written lecture; one or more audio recordings of a yoga nidra practice(s); investigations for you to do into your own sleep habits; and suggestions for further reading. As two of the sections have a choice of practice, taken as a whole there is eight hours of course material.

Total Yoga Nidra Online Foundation

This is a fundamentally restructured and slightly expanded version of the Total Yoga Nidra Foundation that Uma and Nirlipta have been delivering across Europe since 2013.

It consists of a combination of theory and practice to give you a sound foundation of understanding about what yoga nidra is in the broadest sense, and how it works. Our aim is to provide an independent introduction to the many different and varied forms of the practice, as well as a perfect opportunity for those who have encountered it in a partial or limited form to experience the full spectrum of approaches and applications.

The course content has been crafted into fourteen one-hour sections, each covering a specific aspect of the practice. Each section contains: a written lecture summary; a video lecture; a yoga nidra practice; enquiries for you to reflect upon; and suggestions for further reading.
