Total Yoga Nidra Teacher Training (with Yoga Nidra Network)
I started practicing yoga in 1998 and teaching in 2004. As a qualified therapist, I was very interested in the therapeutic use of yoga and completed a diploma in Integrated Yoga Therapy (PGDipIYT) in 2011. However, my experience of yoga nidra was sparse before I undertook sitaram yoga nidra training. While preparing for this training I also undertook a practical course in mindfulness based yoga. During this time it gradually dawned on me that I had, with no effort, broken a lifelong habit of nail biting thanks to this combination. This convinced me of the power of yoga nidra as a practice to bring about positive change while at the same time requiring no effort from the practitioner, and the responsibility we take on when we harness that power for others. Yoga nidra now forms part of my daily practice - usually accompanied by one of my cats! - and, while the effects on me are no longer quite as dramatic, I continue to see its benefits in my life as a whole. My primary interest is in the use of yoga nidra as a means of finding healing. I have worked with people with ME/CFS and, more recently, Parkinson’s. To quote one of my case study participants: ‘this yoga nidra is the bee’s knees!’ www.VitalityTherapies.com bridget@VitalityTherapies.com bridget.reader@gmail.com
