In Praise of Earth
So very happy to be feeling rooted back in the woods - on the very night of my return from Canada, I had the great delight of interviewing Richard Miller for the new book that Nirlipta and I are writing. The book is called Nidra Shakti: An Encyclopaedia of Yoga Nidra (introductory essay available online soon - more on that in the next newsletter!). When we spoke, Richard was answering questions about the development of i-rest, and the fascinating relationships between Yoga Nidra and Bhakti yoga. He agreed with me that ‘Yoga Nidra is a form of Bhakti yoga,’ and he laughed, ‘if there is no heart in it, then it would be very dry!”.
Yoga Nidra Labyrinth
High above San Francisco bay, walking this beautiful labyrinth with our hearts open, we entered a liminal space: a place where deep time settles us into the source of being. Here in the centre of the labyrinth, we rest and pause and invite what is there simply to be. And as we walk outwards in the spirals from the core to the periphery we welcome in again the engagement with the outside world. The Landsend Labyrinth walk echoes the Total Yoga Nidra Journeys I have been sharing on the Yoga Nidra Foundation course in this beautiful city
Everything is New For Me
Do you ever have that feeling, as you surface from the deep rest of yoga nidra, that the world has been washed clean? That all the colours are brighter and more vivid, that you are more able to appreciate the marvel of being alive? This is one of the many reasons I love to practice and share yoga nidra - I see the relief and delight in people's faces when they see the world has been washed clean whilst they rested. . . or at least, we feel more empowered to do our small bit of what's needed in the world right now.
I invite you to come and share in some of the delightful offerings coming up over the next few months, including our 12th anniversary Santosa Living Yoga and Bhakti Camp starting this weekend which includes yoga nidra five times a day in the temple yurt (come for the full time, a few days or just a day).
The Yoga & Self Mastery Summit, by Hanuman Academy
Greetings! As many of you may know, for the last several months I have been preparing and planning my very first teaching pilgrimage to North America. To say the least, it's been a pure delight to meet and build relationships with the amazing yoga community there. They have welcomed me and the teachings with open arms - and the invitations to keep spreading these timeless messages continue to expand! Jai Ma!

Island Cuckoo calls before four, to watch colours pouring back, As tides of light awaken brightness in this Atlantic fragment of the Burren. Voice of Crow upon the ruined gable of this tiny temple sings still after eleven. Between these two birds' calls stretch eighteen bright long hours of midsummer day.

Rivers of Honey Flowing - Summer sharings of Total Yoga Nidra Shakti
We dreamt that She swam in the rivers of honey that flow through the lands of these bodies of love. We felt how She danced in the streams and the pools, of the honey that sweetens these places of love; and all of the dance that She did in the streams, and all of the rivers that run to our hearts, flow deep from the Source to a great sea of sweetness, to an ocean of honey that rocks in our hearts. Come now and float on the heart ocean’s sweetness. Come now and swim in the waves from the source.
