Flourishing and Fallowing at May Day

May Day 2020: Nature is not sticking to pathetic fallacy with a sunny, abundant burgeoning of fertility and health at the time of lockdown. In the orchard at Viveka Gardens trees are covered with blossom, birds call their territory and lay their eggs, bees are buzzing and orange tip butterflies are flirting.  But one tree has decided to rest this year: no blossom (well, just a handful to show it can) and a fallow year. Last year it was laden with apples, and no doubt will be again, but this year it chooses to be different. Explore flourishing and fallowing here on the land.

Goodnight Yoga Nidra with Starry Night Rotation and Triangle Breathing.

A 28 minute yoga nidra to support you on your journey as you drift off to sleep or to help you rest deeply if you find yourself awake during the night or early morning. Koshi chimes are played as you settle into the practice and the sansula accompanies a starry night rotation. You are then guided through a quiet practice of triangle breathing. This practice is designed as a sleep practice and therefore does not awaken and ground you at the end, but invites you to drift off to sleep when you are ready you.

Wild Dawn Chorus Nidra

This 25 minute wild yoga nidra was recorded in my garden, just as the birds started singing on a crisp and clear spring morning. You are invited to travel awareness on a journey around the body, placing a plant or seed at each marma point, then honoring the soil and nutritious compost of the past below and unique blossoming flowers above, an expression of ourselves now, before returning to rest in the ground of our being, held by Mother Earth.

Tara's Scissors Nidra

This total yoga nidra uses Tara's scissors to cut you free of any unwanted addictions or attachments, guided by the wisdom of the heart. The recording was made in the urban wilderness of a London park, and it has the sound of the wind to support the energy of change and transformation.

Escape to the Aliveness of Nature

This Nidra is an offering to those who can't get outside and want to connect into grassy places in nature, parks, gardens or fields. It may be of particular use to people in hospital or who are bed bound. It can also be enjoyed by anyone who just wants to feel like they're outside in nature. It's around 15mins long. There are lots of permissions and invitations including to imagine, know or remember a special place outside through your senses. Perhaps listen to it firs to make sure you're happy with the content before you practice.
