The inspiration for this Nidra comes from the teachings of the Yoga-Vasistha and the story of Bhusunda. Bhusunda is an enlightened, peaceful, person, born of goddesses, manifest as a crow, on a wish-fulfilling tree on Mount Meru (another name for sushumna) which peaks in the heavens. This nidra follows the practise of contemplation of the life-force (prana), pranayama and visualisation.
This is a short, 19-minute Yoga Nidra, to encourage you to relax into this moment. Nothing else matters. Nothing to do and nowhere to go. Simply allowing yourself to move deeper into stillness.
The sequence is accessible to all, especially if new to Yoga Nidra, as there is no descriptive visualization on this particular track, just the comfort of following the body scan and awareness of your life force, or prana.
It’s also useful for when there isn't time for a longer Yoga Nidra meditation, and can be used as a refreshing power nap.
This 27 minute nidra was recorded during the third live session of my case study.
It was created for a group of women with burn out with the intention to go to a happy, magical garden of imagination and to fully let go of any negative thoughts, limiting beliefs, anxiety and feelings of stress. Also with the intention to recharge with life force energy (prana) lying in the warm summer sun.
An invitation to consider the intense vitality and transformation hidden away in moments of apparent stillness - the body at rest, a tree in winter, the pause at the end of the exhale, the darkness just before the dawn.
