In doing so it delves deep into our history, to show how contemporary society's expectations about how we should sleep have come unmoored from our physiology, and demonstrates how the gulf that has opened up between these causes anxiety that leads to disturbed sleep. Having done this it starts to suggest a solution to this, and how yoga nidra can be used to bring this about.
This material is explored by means of a lecture (this you can either read or listen to, or both), a yoga nidra practice designed specifically to help you off to sleep at the start of the night, enquiries for you reflect upon, and suggestions for further reading.
