Total Yoga Nidra Teacher Training (with Yoga Nidra Network)

Hello, my name is Kimberley Luu (she/ her) and I am a therapeutic yoga teacher specializing in yoga nidra, the art of yogic sleep. My affection for yoga nidra birthed from thousands of dreadful nights wrestling with sleep disorders; for a long time, it was the only thing that could grant me a moment’s peace.

Since finding sweet solace on my yoga mat in 2008, I’ve been blessed to train with many wonderful yoga therapists and trailblazers of yoga nidra both locally and internationally. It was comforting to find home under my cherished practice lineage of T.K.V. Desikachar at Yoga Therapy Toronto, through which I received my teaching certification. I also meticulously explored Bihar, iRest, and Himalayan yoga nidra traditions before receiving my specialized certification with Total Yoga Nidra, a responsive approach to practice that draws from multiple styles to intuitively serve the needs of its listeners.

In the meantime, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Honors Kinesiology as well as my Masters of Science in Health Studies and Gerontology, where I researched the neuroscience of yoga and meditation. On the side, I developed and presented many artistic projects that stimulated reflective awareness about the intersections of yoga, mental health, and anti-oppression.

Throughout this ongoing journey, I grew acutely aware of the wounds that various structures of oppression had laid inside my body. It was only when I patiently addressed them with practice that I was able to reclaim my rest as an act of healing justice.

Grateful for all I’ve received, it is now my heartfelt duty to share these gifts. Over the years, I have delighted in helping dozens of older adults, immigrants, cancer patients, healthcare workers, survivors, activists, and other high-stress groups restore their resources and uncover their inherent resilience. I integrate my backgrounds in applied health science and expressive arts to offer out this beautiful tradition with intelligence, creativity, and care.

Contribute to the Yoga Nidra Network

We have chosen to offer these audio recordings freely. We do this because we know yoga nidra to be a valuable practice which we want to share widely. It does, however take a fair bit of time and effort to upload the recordings and maintain this site so you can use it.

If you feel you have benefitted from what you have heard or learnt from this site then please do consider making a contribution towards the maintenance and upkeep of the site. We’d appreciate that, and it would help to ensure we can continue to offer this services freely.

Thank You, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Nirlipta Tuli, Co-Founders, Yoga Nidra Network
