I have been practicing Yoga Nidra since 2007 enjoying the beautiful bliss and connection that is found within this restful space. I experienced it first through the Satyananda yogic tradition with recordings by Swami Pragyamurti Saraswati so when I saw Uma and Nirliptas' course in 2012, I felt it was essential to learn more and explore the origins and different traditions of Yoga Nidra. Since completing the course in 2013 I have spent a much time practicing yoga nidra at different times in the day, as well as with my yoga students as a practice on its own or following yoga asana and pranayama. I have noticed that it has provided them with a spring board into inner peace and allowing a highly restorative pause from daily routines.
It is a helpful practice for sleeping problems and finding a clear path. I am a British Wheel accredited Yoga Teacher since 2008 and have been teaching group and one to one classes along with my full time job working in Culture. My yoga practice and sharing it with others is an essential part of my life for keeping clear minded, calm, grounded and giving space to what is. I can apply Yoga Nidra teaching one to one or for group sessions currently on Zoom. The Yoga Nidra practices that I teach can be between 20-45 minutes in length.
