The most comprehensive book so far written about Yoga Nidrā.
This beautifully illustrated hard cover encyclopaedia is a labour of love that has taken over nine years to prepare, compiling twenty years of research into 704 pages with 16 pages of full colour illustrations, and over sixty images, diagrams and charts.
It’s four books rolled into one: there is history, prehistory, science, art, testimonies, practical guidance for facilitators, as well as a Sanskrit glossary, chronology, full index, bibliography, a cross-referenced A-Z and a remarkable Treasury of 108 Transcripts of Yoga Nidrā from over thirty different practitioners around the world.
These 108 audio recordings, by over 30 different yoga nidra facilitators around the world, present a full and fascinating spectrum of approaches to Yoga Nidrā. They include therapeutic applications of Yoga Nidrā for a variety of conditions and examples of co-creative, narrative and traditional approaches to the practice. Many of these are previously unreleased, live recordings made at community events, 1-1 yoga therapy sessions and on Yoga Nidrā training courses.
"For indeed the key ingredient of yoga nidrā is Yoga Nidrā Shakti: the power of sleep. Without her presence there can be no experience of yoga nidrā. It is the power of sleep that makes yoga nidrā such a powerful experience, and this healing and restorative power has been recognised and revered in Indigenous knowings all over the world for generations."
"The land of yoganidrā is a pathless territory, full of places and states of consciousness that are the collective birthright of all humans to access in as many diverse ways as there are dreams to be shared."
