02 Radical Yogic Act of Collective Rest, Reconnection and Restoration

Vocal Mode: Sung (in whole or in part), With music

Language: English - UK

This is one of the yoga nidrā practices included in the Treasury of Transcripts in ‘Nidrā Shakti: The Power of Rest – An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Yoga Nidrā’.

This 36-minute practice was devised for online participants at the Brighton Yoga and Wellbeing festival at 12 noon on Sunday 21 July 2021 by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. Initially the festival had been designed as a hybrid live in-person ‘real’ festival with a few online Zoom sessions, but after changes in UK government guidelines for social distancing during the COVID pandemic, the entire gathering moved online. Many participants were feeling confused and anxious as a result of multiple changes of plan and the rising infection rate in the UK at the time of the festival. The intention of the practice was to meet participants where they were and to offer a chance to co-create a reassuring and nourishing yoga nidrā practice.
