Nidra for Midwives & Shift Workers

Nidra for Midwives & Shift Workers

Language: English - UK

A short, nourishing practice specifically for midwives or shift workers whose sleep patterns may be disturbed.
Sufficient rest is key to all aspects of mental health. Emotional and cognitive resilience is nurtured by sleep. Our immune systems are depleted by lack of rest and under-slept people make poor choices. Sleep deprivation and disruption is a widespread experience of midwives and all shift workers, especially those working under high pressure in health care settings.
A rested midwife is safer, kinder, more present and connected. Yoga nidra can be a vital tool to support safe practice and wise choices on shift, even at the tiredest moment. It is also a potent remedy for fatigue-induced confusion and insomnia because it offers a rapid means to reset and reconnect, to restore natural rhythmic cycles that can be disrupted by night work.
Made with love for midwives, from a midwife.

Do you work with pregnant women or in the field of women’s health? Our Yoni Shakti: Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training  will empower you to share deeply nourishing practices of yoga for women during pregnancy, childbirth and in the immediate postnatal period. This course is primarily for yoga teachers, but we extend a warm welcome to non-yoga teachers with a specialist interest in women’s health and pregnancy, birth and postnatal recovery. Read more about our training and up coming dates on our Teacher Training page here.

We have chosen to offer these audio recordings freely. We do this because we know yoga nidra to be a valuable practice which we want to share widely. It does, however take a fair bit of time and effort to upload the recordings and maintain this site so you can use it.

If you feel you have benefitted from what you have heard or learnt from this site then please do consider making a contribution towards the maintenance and upkeep of the site. We’d appreciate that, and it would help to ensure we can continue to offer this services freely.
