Yoni Shakti Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training
I discovered yoga twenty years ago and started on my quest to find out out more. I travelled extensively for about 10 years and attended yoga workshops with some great teachers. I spread my roots on the Wirral and began my yoga teacher training with the CYF in 2001 and also trained to teach children with Karmatime. I attended Uma’s pregnancy yoga course and was particularly struck by the needs of the postnatal ladies during the course – boy did they need some nurturing! I follow the teachings of Thich Nat Hanh and try to live my life with mindfulness. As a mum of two (and a wife of one) I am living the dream by teaching yoga as my work. I’m a clinical hypnotherapist aswell so I weave my knowledge into my classes. I teach hatha yoga classes, children’s yoga, pregnany yoga, postnatal yoga and run regular workshops and Radiant Heart Retreats in Snowdonia. In between teaching and the school run, I walk on the beach with my dog (the most patient member of our family!) and enjoy chanting to really open the heart! This year I am undergoing shamanic training and learning to weave this wisdom into my life and my teaching. I am a tutor on the CYF yoga teacher training course and have tutored on the Karmatime Children’s Yoga course. I spend the summer’s taking the kids to various yoga camps and festivals and have worked in the children’s area at Santosha Yoga Camp, the IYN Summer Festival and I organise the children’s area at the Superspirit 10 day camp. I am now sharing my knowledge of teaching yoga to children with my own Children’s Yoga & Mindfulness Courses with Janine Hurley (www.ChrysalisKidsYoga.co.uk)
