Total Yoga Nidra Teacher Training (with Yoga Nidra Network)
Yoga Nidra is the most effective yoga technique I have discovered allowing everyone, be they old/young, a regular practitioner or complete novice, well and not so well to benefit - just lie down, snuggle up and listen in.........a daily yoga Nidra has helped create a permanent center of inner peace and calmness for me to tune into at any time. I have been practicing yoga for over 25 years, first with the inspirational June Whittaker-Pisano in London and later, I completed my teacher training with Mira Mehta (author of Yoga: The Iyengar Way, Yoga Explained and Health through Yoga) at her school in London called the Yogic Path. I remain inspired by her teachings and the Iyengar method which is known worldwide for its safe, progressive instruction in a wide range of postures and breath control techniques. Based on detailed, accurate knowledge, the method is also known for its efficacy in treating health problems through Yoga. Mira taught, using the philosophy of the ancient texts, in a therapeutic way, so everyone could benefit and improve their well being. I humbly try to follow in her footsteps. I continue to explore  the huge world of yoga from Ancient times right up to the most recent scientific research on the efficacy of yoga. I have a Diploma in Yoga Therapy from Yoga Campus and a Masters in Traditions of Yoga and Meditation at SOAS, University of London with a dissertation in the Evolution of Pranayama. I am besotted about the impact of breath and prana on the body and mind! I am also a qualified Mindfulness Teacher (MBSR) which helps me bring meditative thought into my own yoga practice and the group lessons I teach and therapy clients I work with. I trained and worked as a corporate commercial solicitor in London before setting up, running and ultimately selling a property services business. I understand stress! My classes, like yoga, are for everyone: to be enjoyed and relished. There is a lot of laughter as well as hard work and quiet, restorative down time. Once a month there is a Nidra session in each of the group classes and sometimes more often when requested! Classes and workshops are fully equipped and held in an environmentally friendly, cedar wood Yoga Shack built in the garden with views over the Lambourn Valley and Downs in West Berkshire. I have also taught in Wales, France and Portugal. I am so grateful that I have discovered the world of yoga; I want to share my knowledge so everyone can benefit.
