Yoni Shakti Well Woman Yoga Therapy Teacher Training

I’ve been practising yoga for 16 years. I trained with Anne Marie Newland in Sun Power Yoga (2013) a combination of hatha, Sivananda and Ashtanga yoga. I received my 500hour advanced teacher training accreditation in BodhiYoga with Buddhist yoga teachers Sudaka and Sadhita (2016), with a specialised focus on mindful yoga, somatic awareness and yoga for remedial injury therapy. I trained with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Sivani Mata Francis on their Well Woman Yoga Therapy Training in Stroud, 2020, gaining an insight into specific practices to nourish women’s bodies within their seasonal cycles, both monthly and the cycles of their lives, including menarche and menstruation, fertility, post-natal recovery, peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopause.

I teach a combination of pranayama, dynamic sequences, posture work and restorative practice to nourish and develop strength, flexibility and well being in mind and body, suitable for all levels of experience. I believe that yoga is for every body and it’s important to me encourage mindful practice which enables people to deeply connect to their body and respond to what they need from their practise in each moment. My yoga practice is also deeply inspired by my Buddhist practice; I’ve been practising with the Triratna Buddhist movement for the past 11 years and am currently training for Ordination. I have taught yoga in studios, community centres, warehouses, gyms and green spaces all over the UK, including on meditative canal side yoga retreats with Float by Boat. In my work as a theatre director (www.jonewmandirector.com) I lead daily yoga with actors and find it an invaluable part of the rehearsal process and leads to embodied awareness and greater creative freedom.

I’m currently teaching weekly zoom yoga classes on Wednesdays at 8am, in addition to weekly classes for Barnet Refugee Services and with City Yoga Birmingham (https://www.cityyogabirmingham.co.uk). I also teach online one to ones for bespoke sessions, deepening practice or therapeutic posture work.

We have chosen to offer these audio recordings freely. We do this because we know yoga nidra to be a valuable practice which we want to share widely. It does, however take a fair bit of time and effort to upload the recordings and maintain this site so you can use it.

If you feel you have benefitted from what you have heard or learnt from this site then please do consider making a contribution towards the maintenance and upkeep of the site. We’d appreciate that, and it would help to ensure we can continue to offer this services freely.

Thank You, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Nirlipta Tuli, Co-Founders, Yoga Nidra Network
