Total Yoga Nidra Teacher Training (with Yoga Nidra Network)

Yoga and meditation have been part of my life since childhood and it has been pregnancy and motherhood that led me to deeply appreciate their restorative and life-enhancing benefits. In 2006 I began a regular yoga practice upon joining a studio in Hong Kong; when I became pregnant in 2008 hypnobirthing was a natural choice and the practices worked so powerfully for me that my son was born very quickly at home. I continued to use meditative hypnotic recordings, sophrology and yoga nidra as I struggled with sleep and anxiety as a new mum. In early 2015 I completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program with Peta McAuley and the deep peace and wellness I found within myself transformed me; I knew I had to share this. I passed on the leadership of the migrants empowerment charity I had established, and sought all opportunities to learn more about meditation. I began enthusiastically leading meditations in my living room with friends and former colleges and anyone willing to try!

Wanting more guidance and tools, I completed a Meditation Teacher Training Course with Keshava (Sarvaguna Yoga) in Goa, India in 2016 and a Yoga Nidra Teacher Training with Meera (Diya Yoga) in Goa in 2017. I also continued to explore different secular and Buddhist meditation traditions taking Peta McAuley’s Cultivating Emotional Balance Course and several meditation courses and retreats with Ajahn Brahm and at the Kadampa meditation Centre with Kelsang Rabten. I have especially benefited from loving-kindness meditation which has been the core of my practice since 2016, greatly enhancing my sense of safety and improving my relationships.

In the summer of 2018 I completed the Total Yoga Nidra Teacher Training in Stroud, England, the deep restoration and creative elation I felt at the end of that week revealed to me that yoga nidra would be a key part of my practice and teaching moving forwards. In Stroud I also discovered the power of music, poetry and sound and began incorporating the thumb piano in my nidras. Later that year I trained in sound healing using Tibetan singing bowls with Shiva Girish (Satyam Shivam Sundarum) in Goa, and I now infuse my nidras with the beautiful vibration of these bowls. In July 2019 I completed a training on using yoga and yoga nidra for transforming stress and trauma with Molly Birkholm (senior irest trainer) at the Sivananda Yoga Centre in Austria. I have since continued to study the application of yoga nidra to healing post-traumatic stress disorder following Richard Miller’s experience with Irest. In 2021 I deepened my sound healing knowledge with a Sound Healing practitioner training with Mona Choi in Hong Kong.

I share yoga nidra, mindful movement, loving-kindness meditation, and sound healing in studios in HK and on Zoom. My core course offering, “Nidra Journey”, focuses on transforming stress and trauma with yoga nidra, to support people during these challenging times. “Heart Journey”, follows on from the Nidra Journey taking people deeper into heart energy with loving kindness, self compassion, self love, forgiveness, gratitude and joy. I am passionate about sharing practices that help people connect to the peace and love inside as I believe that when we connect back to our wholeness and wellness and heal our stress and trauma symptoms we are in a much better space to solve the big issues facing humanity.

Welcome to join my Supportive Zoom Yoga Nidra sessions 8.30-9.30pm Hong Kong time (12.30-1.30pm London time) on the last Sunday of the month. More details on www.BathinginLove.com

Contribute to the Yoga Nidra Network

We have chosen to offer these audio recordings freely. We do this because we know yoga nidra to be a valuable practice which we want to share widely. It does, however take a fair bit of time and effort to upload the recordings and maintain this site so you can use it.

If you feel you have benefitted from what you have heard or learnt from this site then please do consider making a contribution towards the maintenance and upkeep of the site. We’d appreciate that, and it would help to ensure we can continue to offer this services freely.

Thank You, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Nirlipta Tuli, Co-Founders, Yoga Nidra Network
