Rita Burgos, Yoga Nidra Representative (California College of Ayurveda)

United States
Yoga Nidra Teacher Training (with another organisaton)

Rita Burgos is a Yoga Nidra Representative, training new instructors in classically-based yoga nidra through the California College of Ayurveda.  In addition to training instructors, she leads yoga nidra private sessions, group classes for non-profits, recovery centers, schools, and community organizations.  She co-founded AwakenAware as a collaborative project to expand the impact of the profound healing benefits of yoga nidra. She was inspired to share yoga nidra with a wider audience when she realized that her practice of yoga nidra helped break through obstacles that had been limiting her personal achievements.
In addition to her work in yoga nidra, Rita is also a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and Pancha Karma Specialist.  She is also certified as an Energy Healing Therapist and Body/Mind Counselor through the Lionheart Institute.  Her years of training in these complementary modalities have helped her to create a safe place for clients to heal from physical challenges and emotional trauma.   She has a clinical practice based in Los Angeles where she works with clients to address emotional and nervous system challenges (addiction, anxiety, anger management, depression),  digestive distress, and other chronic challenges such as autoimmune disorders, diabetes, endocrine imbalance and cancer.  She recommends yoga nidra to the vast majority of her clients because of its profound ability to stimulate and support healing for all conditions,  supporting the repatterning of tendencies that created disease in their lives.
Prior to her work in Ayurvedic medicine and holistic healing, she worked as a community organizer, leading campaigns and training new organizers to mobilize low-income communities for civil rights and environmental justice.  Whether it be community organizing, group workshops, or individual clients in Ayurveda, her life work is rooted in the belief that when you address the root cause of imbalances, profound healing happens.

Contribute to the Yoga Nidra Network

We have chosen to offer these audio recordings freely. We do this because we know yoga nidra to be a valuable practice which we want to share widely. It does, however take a fair bit of time and effort to upload the recordings and maintain this site so you can use it.

If you feel you have benefitted from what you have heard or learnt from this site then please do consider making a contribution towards the maintenance and upkeep of the site. We’d appreciate that, and it would help to ensure we can continue to offer this services freely.

Thank You, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Nirlipta Tuli, Co-Founders, Yoga Nidra Network
