I discovered yoga as a student and have had a regular practice since the late 1990s. As a college teacher I worked with teenagers for many years and have an MA in Creative Writing, before training to be a Yoga teacher with Janine Hurley and Chelsea Canovas. Ive had some other amazing teachers, Uma Dinsmore Tuli, Jane Craggs, Christine Hewitt, Charlotte Watts, Saffron Harrison and Lucy Arnsby Wilson
For a decade I lived with a debilitating chronic condition, yoga helped me cope and recover, using a combination of restorative yoga, gentle hatha and Yoga Nidra. I aim to inspire and share this alchemy with everyone I can. My yoga is naturally therapeutic informed by twenty years as an AOR Reflexologist and I bring this to all my classes. Most notably supporting those with cancer at the Maggies Manchester.
I love to work with women and support them at all stages of their lives with yoga, from teenagers, through to pregnancy, Into peri-menopause and beyond. Yoga was invaluable for me during labour and birth and enabled me to have a water birth at home.
This year I complete my Yoga Therapy for Young People Training, inspired by my teenage son who has ADHD and is dyslexic. He was crushed by the present GCSE system and the lack of support for young people like him.
